I want you folks here that are part of the Community family to meet some of God’s men and women who are serving Him throughout the world. Today we had Timothy Kurtaneck share his heart at the 9:30 hour and now Pastor Daniel White will be in our pulpit at the 10:45 hour.
Join me for the CE National Celebration today at 6pm at Community Grace Brethren Church in Long Beach (on Downey Ave). This is one of those times we will have Ed and TK standing side by side speaking which doesn't happen too often. Some of us will meet here in Whittier then head out to the celebration in Long Beach. Speak with me if you want to arrange transportation.
The first part of this past week(Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) I was at The Oaks Conference Center up near Lake Hughes meeting with our pastors and missionaries. Our own Bob Hetzler was part of the big group. The second part of the week my meetings were at Grace Church in Seal Beach with our Fellowship Council where I am a member. Many people send their greetings to you, the Community Church family.
The best three articles on prayer I have read in a long time are in the latest issue of GRACE CONNECT magazine. I have put some FREE copies of the magazine for you at the Information Center. First come, first served.
Whittier Area Churches are joining in a day of prayer on Saturday, February 6th around the corner from us at the Salvation Army for the annual Whittier Area Prayer Summit. It begins at 7am and continues through 6pm. Come anytime for a little bit or longer (I will be there to pray around 12:30). Location is 7926 S. Pickering. More info at www.whittierareaprayersummit.com plus there are flyers at the Information Center for you to get that explains the schedule of prayer for the day.
God’s best to you,
Pastor Richard
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
HAVE YOU HEARD THAT UNITED STATES MILITARY CHAPLAINS CANNOT PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS ANYMORE?
There is nothing on the books that limits the ministry of chaplains in the United States military. The military is as much a mission field as any missionary in any field in the world. These guys touch lives that no one else can touch. Colonel John Schumacher.
